Dreams Arise Ghana started long before it ever existed. However, the first attempt to make our work official was through a programme dubbed Read My Dream Through. With this project, we collated books from friends and colleagues and then took these books to a church on Pediatorkope Island. With the permission of the church leadership, we tasked the Sunday School teachers to keep the children engaged with the books every Sunday after the children's service had closed. This activity would prevent the kids from loitering while waiting for their parents to close from church. We returned to the church a year later to assess the use of these books and to our surprise the kids were willing to learn and improve. Unfortunately, they had limited opportunities to do so and this was aside from other individual challenges some of them faced.

Just like most children in the Ada community, these children would do better in their academics if they had the better educational opportunities, platform and exposure. Living in a rural community shouldn’t be the reason why a child is deprived of good and quality education. Unfortunately, the lack of educational opportunities and exposure can be connected to the low level of development in the community.

This short experiment we conducted emphasised to us the need to;
- Create more educational opportunities to support the existing work being done by the government.
- Amplify the need for education through advocacy work.
- Create other training opportunities for young people who had already dropped out of the formal education system
